ACTE Announces South Carolina Law Enforcement Services Instructor as

National Award Finalist

 

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Today, the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) announced Debbie Rowell, Law Enforcement Services Instructor at Lancaster County School District Career Center in Lancaster, South Carolina, as the 2021 ACTE Region II Teacher of the Year. This award recognizes the finest career and technical education (CTE) teachers at the middle/secondary school level who have demonstrated innovation in the classroom, commitment to their students and dedication to the improvement of CTE in their institutions and communities.

 

Debbie Rowell has been teaching Law Enforcement Services since its inception in the Lancaster County School District in 2004. Before that, Rowell worked for the FBI. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice and a minor in psychology and a master’s degree in criminal justice with a focus in law enforcement administration. Rowell is currently working towards her PhD in criminal justice from Liberty University.

 

Rowell is one of five finalists for the 2022 national title. The national winner will be announced at the virtual ACTE Awards Gala, an award presentation recognizing the best CTE educators in the country. The virtual event will take place on November 30 at 5:00 p.m. ET. The virtual Awards Gala is sponsored by Express Employment Professionals, Goodheart-Willcox and Stratasys.
