ACTE Announces Arizona Faculty as 2021 National Winner 

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Today, the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) announced Nicole Hampton, Lecturer at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizonaas the 202National ACTE Postsecondary Teacher of the Year. This award recognizes the finest career and technical education teachers at the postsecondary level who have demonstrated innovation in the classroom, commitment to their students and dedication to the improvement of CTE in their institutions and communities. The Postsecondary Teacher of the Year Award is sponsored by Goodheart-Willcox. 

Nicole Hampton has been faculty in the College of Education at Northern Arizona University since August of 2001 and the CTE area coordinator since 2009.  In this capacity, she is responsible for course design and delivery at the undergraduate and graduate levels, student advising and mentoring, service activities, leadership, program assessment and reporting, and administration for the CTE degrees.  Hampton’s work includes program articulation with the statewide community college system as well as program outcome development and curriculum mapping and assessment for the programs.  Hampton has been a member of ACTE AZ since 2005 and ACTE since 2008 and serves on the ACTEAZ board as the University Representative – a position she was appointed to in 2009.  Passionate for students, she serves as scholarship chair for both the ACTEAZ organization and the College of Education at NAU.

Hampton was one of five finalists for the 202national title. The national winner was announced at the ACTE Virtual Awards Galathe first virtual award presentation recognizing the best CTE educators in the country. The event took place on Thursday, December 3, during ACTE’s CareerTech Virtual VISION 2020. The Awards Gala was sponsored by Express Employment ProfessionalsCareerSafeGoodheart-Willcox, eDynamic Learning and Stratasys.
