Nashville to Host 2017 National Association for Career and Technical Education Conference
The largest annual gathering of CTE professionals in the nation will take place from Dec. 6–9

WHAT:
The Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) will host its annual CareerTech VISIONconference, the largest gathering of career and technical education (CTE) professionals in the country, in Nashville, TN later this year. The Association’s annual conference provides professional development to thousands of CTE professionals through hundreds of CTE sessions covering the complete spectrum of secondary and postsecondary CTE, classroom tools, public policy updates, and more. The CareerTech Expo and Career Pavilion also provide opportunities to network with business and industry representatives.

This year, Isaac Lidsky, entrepreneur and author, will provide the opening keynote address. Kayleen McCabe, host of DIY Network’s Rescue Renovation, will provide the closing keynote. A panel of state and local CTE leaders, moderated by Tamar Jacoby, President & CEO of Opportunity America, and including Dr. Scott Ralls, President of Northern Virginia Community College; Mrs. Heather Justice, Tennessee Executive Director of CTE; and Commissioner Stephen Pruitt from the Kentucky Department of Education; will also address the full conference.

An awards banquet will take place on Wednesday evening where ACTE national award winners will be announced. On Saturday, the second-ever STEM is CTE Symposium will be held to bring together education and business leaders to address access to STEM-related career paths.
