ACTE Announces Utah Teacher as National Award Finalist

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Today, the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) announced Geary Page, Teacher at Westlake High School in Saratoga Springs, Utah, as the 2022 ACTE Region V Teacher of the Year. This award recognizes the finest career and technical education (CTE) teachers at the middle/secondary school level who have demonstrated innovation in the classroom, commitment to their students and dedication to the improvement of CTE in their institutions and communities.

Geary has invested almost 20 years in creating online resources for students and teachers. His websites and Canvas courses help other teachers elevate the level of learning in their classrooms without duplicating the effort. His experience with Canvas as an Adjunct Teacher at Salt Lake Community College has allowed Business & Marketing teachers in the State to quickly roll out course content in the new LMS. Two years ago, Geary became a Teacher Ambassador for EmpowerED, a non-profit organization that promotes Entrepreneurism in classrooms across the Country and has been the Lead teacher for the Marketing Courses collaboration group for Alpine School District and State Course Revision teams. He has worked with an amazing team of teachers to develop innovative ways to teach Entrepreneurship in the District and State.

Page is one of five finalists for the 2023 national title. The national winner will be announced at the ACTE Awards Gala, an award presentation recognizing the best CTE educators in the country. The event will take place on November 30, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. The Awards Gala is sponsored by Express Employment Professionals, Goodheart-Willcox and Stratasys.
