ACTE Announces North Carolina CTE Curriculum and Instruction Management Coordinator as National Award Finalist 

 

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Today, the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) announced Lindsey Criss, CTE Curriculum and Instruction Management Coordinator at Alamance-Burlington School System Career and Technical Education in Burlington, North Carolina, as the 2022 ACTE Region II Teacher Educator of the Year. This award recognizes the finest career and technical education (CTE) educators at the middle/secondary school level who have demonstrated innovation in the classroom, commitment to their students and dedication to the improvement of CTE in their institutions and communities. 

 

Lindsey serves as the CTE Curriculum and Instructional Management Coordinator for Alamance-Burlington School System, providing relevant, programmatic training for CTE teachers aligned to ABSS district professional development initiatives. Prior to her work as CIMC, Lindsey was an ABSS Special Populations Coordinator after serving Hugh M. Cummings High School as both Career Development Coordinator and lateral entry Business Education Teacher. She holds a Master of Arts in Business Education from North Carolina A & T State University, a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from Gardner-Webb University, and an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Cleveland Community College. Lindsey completed the North Carolina CTE Administrative Internship in 2017 and serves as part of her district CTE Leadership Team. 

 

Criss is one of five finalists for the 2023 national title. The national winner will be announced at the ACTE Awards Gala, an award presentation recognizing the best CTE educators in the country. The event will take place on November 30, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. The Awards Gala is sponsored by Express Employment Professionals, Goodheart-Willcox and Stratasys.
