Program Updates
MiraCosta College Visit – August 2022
Fellows from the fourth cohort of the NextLevel Postsecondary CTE Fellowship at ACTE met together for their school study visit at Mira Costa College in Oceanside, California on August 1-3, 2022. MiraCosta College is is a public community college serving coastal North San Diego County in California, fosters the academic and holistic success of its diverse learners within a caring and equitable environment to strengthen the educational, economic, cultural, and social well-being of the communities it serves. Fellows from the NextLevel Fellowship were able to learn from and have conversations with MiraCosta Faculty, including the president of the college and several vice presidents and deans as well. Fellows also toured the campus, seeing the innovate environment the college has. In the evenings, the fellows bonded as a cohort with social experiences, including seeing the Pacific Ocean and enjoying delicious, local ice cream. We are very grateful to MiraCosta College, especially their leadership, for hosting the NextLevel Fellows and for providing opportunities postsecondary learners in southern California.

Postsecondary CTE Event
Join postsecondary CTE professionals from across the nation to tackle four critical issues:
- Expanding Career Pathways
- Building Apprenticeships
- Closing Access & Equity Gaps
- Supporting Faculty Recruitment & Retention.
The Convening will feature expert panel presentations, engaging professional development sessions, and numerous networking/working sessions. Participants will engage in discussions about the best practices in these four key areas and you will draft a plan to impact your institution. This solution-driven event is unlike any event you have ever attended!
Don’t forget to also register for the pre-Convening special event. We have arranged a tour and dinner at the International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach at Horry-Georgetown Technical College. You will receive a four-course meal prepared by their very own students! This event will be an intimate gathering with your peers. Space is limited for the Convening and the special pre-Convening event!

ECMC Foundation Leadership Collaborative Convening - October 2022
ECMC Foundation has sponsored the NextLevel Postsecondary Fellowship Program for the last four years. Each year the Foundation brings together the fellows from their six grant-sponsored programs from across the country, including professionals working in research, data analytics, business and industry, journalism, higher education, and government. Similar to previous convenings, the program will include a range of plenary, breakout and working sessions, and offer opportunities to network across fellowships and different segments in the CTE sector. Current Fellows are expected to participate while fellowship alumni are strongly encouraged.
This year’s leadership collaborative convening is in Nashville, Tennessee and is by invite only.
