Platform Statement
As the FCS Education Division vice president-elect, my goal would be to advance the eld of FCS education and advocate for its importance in CTE. Here are some key objectives that I would want to accomplish:
- Advocacy and awareness: Promote the value and relevance of FCS education to policymakers, administrators, educators and the public. Advocate for increased funding and support for FCS programs at all levels.
- Professional development: Develop and provide PD opportunities for FCS educators, ensuring they have access to the latest research, best practices and resources. Foster a community of collaboration and knowledge-sharing among FCS professionals.
- Partnerships and collaboration: Forge partnerships with relevant organizations, industry and community leaders to enhance FCS education.
- Member engagement: Engage with members of the FCS division, listen to their needs and concerns, and provide opportunities for their input and involvement in shaping the direction of FCS education.
- Public relations and communication: Develop and implement effective communication strategies to showcase the accomplishments and impact of FCS education. Use various platforms, such as social media, newsletters and conferences. By focusing on these objectives, one can make a signicant impact advancing FCS education and ensuring its continued relevance and growth in the eld of CTE.
