The Postsecondary, Adult and Career Education Division of the Association for Career and Technical Education® is committed to providing career and technical educators high-quality information and services responsive to your needs as a training and employment professional. The Postsecondary, Adult and Career Education Division strives to keep pace with the latest trends in technology, education and legislation in order to produce quality workers for a competitive workforce. Members of the Postsecondary, Adult and Career Education Division and their classification are varied by state and include community college instructors, teacher educators, adjuncts, contract trainers, adult education faculty, subject matter experts of business and industry, teachers, counselors, administrators, placement officers, economic developers, adult basic education instructors, sex equity coordinators, literacy instructors and financial aid officers. Our collective goals is to promote quality career and technical training that improves the economic success of those we serve.
These professionals bring to the table a wide array of approaches to preparing individuals for employment. Through many networking opportunities, members and their agencies and institutions can gain an informed, focused perspective on the rapidly changing job market and learn new ways to equip clients and students with in-demand job market skills.
The Postsecondary, Adult and Career Education was called the Adult Workforce Development Division until March 2011, when the Board of Directors voted to change the name to better reflect the makeup of the Division’s membership. Prior to that, the Division was known as the Employment and Training Division until December 1999, when the name was changed with the approval of ACTE’s Assembly of Delegates.
