ACTE Announces Washington Director as National Award Finalist 

 

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Today, the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) announced Cindy Arnold, Director at Battle Ground School District in Battle Ground, Washington, as the 2022 ACTE Region V Administrator of the Year. This award recognizes the finest career and technical education (CTE) administrators at the middle/secondary school level who have demonstrated innovation in the classroom, commitment to their students and dedication to the improvement of CTE in their institutions and communities. 

 

Cindy Arnold got a two-year degree in Biological Laboratory Technology, North Country Community College, New York She worked in two hospitals as a Biological Laboratory Technician, New York and then in Iowa. She then worked eight years as an office manager in Business (two businesses), Etolin Transfer, FOSS Alaska Line, Johnson Construction. Arnold has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business and Biology Education, minors in Accounting and Chemistry from Truman State University, Missouri, worked part-time teaching at Clark College in the Business Department Fourteen years Career and Technical Education Teacher in Business at Columbia River High School, Vancouver  Small Learning Communities Coordinator, Vancouver Public Schools. Arnold then gained her master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, Washington State University Four years Assistant Principal/Athletic Director, Prairie High School, Battle Ground. She spent five years as a Principal at Captain Strong Primary, Battle Ground Career and Technical Education Director Program and Certification and the last seven years, Career and Technical Education Director, Battle Ground. 

 

Arnold is one of five finalists for the 2023 national title. The national winner will be announced at the ACTE Awards Gala, an award presentation recognizing the best CTE educators in the country. The event will take place on November 30, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. The Awards Gala is sponsored by Express Employment Professionals, Goodheart-Willcox and Stratasys.
