ACTE Announces Board of Directors 2023 Election Results

Alexandria, VA – The Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) is pleased to announce the results of the recent election for several spots on its Board of Directors. The election was open to ACTE’s membership of roughly 25,000 educators, administrators and other CTE professionals. The following members were elected:

 

Carrie Scheiderer, President-Elect
Ms. Scheiderer is a Chief Administrator at Central Region Tech Prep/ Central Ohio Technical College in Newark, Ohio. Her one-year term will begin in July 2023 and will be followed by one-year terms as president and past president, respectively.  

Dr. Bart Taylor, Trade and Industrial Education Division Vice President
Dr. Taylor is a Lecturer at Texas A&M University and Sam Houston State University in College Station, Texas. He is a CTE Program Specialist for Bryan Independent School District in Bryan, Texas. He will serve a three-year term beginning July 2023.  

Sandra Adams, Administration Division Vice President-Elect

Ms. Adams an Administrator at the Career Academy in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She will serve a three-year term beginning July 2024.  

Brooke Kusch, Counseling and Career Development Division Vice President-Elect

Ms. Kusch is a Career Counselor at Autry Technology Center in Enid, Oklahoma. She will serve a three-year term beginning July 2024.  

Shawn Freie, Postsecondary, Adult & Career Education Division Vice President-Elect
Ms. Freie is the Small Business Management Coordinator and Incubator Manager at Caddo Kiowa Technology Center in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma. She will serve a three-year term beginning July 2024.

*Fran Bromley-Norwood, Engineering Technology Education Division Vice President
Appointed by the Board of Directors Ms. Bromley-Norwood is an Administrator at Clark County School District in Las Vegas, Nevada. She will serve a three-year term beginning July 2023.  

*Douglas Bush, Region I Vice President
Appointed by the Board of Directors Mr. Bush is an Associate Superintendent for CTE at Gratiot-Isabelle Regional Education Services District in Shepherd, Michigan. He will serve a three-year term beginning July 2023.  

 

Additionally, the vice president-elect whose election occurred last year will join the Board as vice president in July 2023. Michael Culwell will assume the position of Region IV Vice President.

ACTE congratulates the winners, and thanks all of the candidates for their willingness to serve and their hard work, dedication, and commitment to the Association. ACTE also thanks all of its members who had their voices heard by voting in the election.
