In addition, I would like to enhance ACTE’s member benefits through an “everyday value” approach. By designing innovative, on-demand professional learning experiences beyond our standard conferences, it would help us provide members with tangible, year-round support for their daily work and ongoing development. Finally, I would like to set an ambitious goal to triple our industry partnerships, which would lead to significantly higher engagement and active participation from the business sector at all ACTE events. Platform statement
The mission of ACTE is to provide educational leadership in developing a competitive workforce. I believe the Association can best realize that mission when it provides substantial, undeniable value to its members and state associations. I would like to lead an effort to better catalog the benefits ACTE provides. By fostering a stronger understanding of what we offer and how we offer it, we can create a way to better articulate how ACTE adds value to the work of CTE professionals in developing a competitive workforce. CTE professionals should see membership in ACTE as essential to their career.
To provide educational leadership ACTE has to be the collective voice of CTE professionals. We are at our strongest when we cultivate a united voice for advocacy and collaboration with industry partners. ACTE should also be a “town square” for the exchange of best practices across the nation. I would like to develop an inventory of all the pathways that the Association provides for professionals to collaborate. We need to make sure that we are most effectively providing the opportunities to educators to learn and growth together.
To effectively achieve our mission, we must maintain operational effectiveness, prioritize transparency, demonstrate strict accountability and uphold unwavering fiscal responsibility. The Association is in a very strong position, and these areas have been realized. I would like to support the senior staff to create and use evaluation measures to continue identifying areas for improvement and growth.

Platform statement
As ACTE president-elect, I would focus on strengthening member engagement, leadership development, and partnership across the organization while continuing to advocate for the value and impact of CTE.
ACTE’s strength comes from its members. I want every member to feel connected, supported, and valued through meaningful professional development, networking, mentorship, and leadership opportunities. By building strong relationships and fostering open communication among members, regions, divisions, the board, and ACTE staff, we can keep moving the organization forward and make sure members have access to the support and opportunities they need to succeed.
I also want to continue supporting efforts to build and sustain the CTE educator pipeline through recruitment, retention, mentorship and leadership development. Schools and institutions across the country are facing real staffing shortages and workforce challenges, and ACTE has an important role to play in supporting both current and future CTE professionals. When educators, counselors, and administrators feel prepared, connected, and supported, it strengthens not only our profession but also the students and communities we serve.
Throughout my own leadership journey with ACTE, I have seen firsthand what is possible when members feel welcomed, encouraged and empowered to get involved. Some of my most meaningful growth came from people who took the time to mentor me, include me and invite me to lead. That is the kind of organization I want every member to experience.
As president-elect, I would work to build on that spirit. I want a strong, member-focused organization built on partnership and working together, one that stays responsive to the evolving needs of CTE professionals, while continuing to advocate for high-quality opportunities for all learners.

The updated career clusters model presents an exciting opportunity to modernize CTE and better align programs with evolving workforce needs, creating clearer pathways for student success. While FCS is not directly represented within the new structure, its impact remains vital. I will continue to positively position FCS within this framework by demonstrating how its programs connect across multiple clusters, prepare students for diverse career pathways, and equip them with essential, lifelong skills that support both career readiness and personal success.
As a candidate, I will champion FCS through intentional advocacy, equipping educators with tools to elevate their programs and voices. I will strengthen collaboration among FCS organizations, reduce duplication and prioritize recruitment of the next generation of educators. Together, we can elevate our profession and ensure all students are prepared for careers, families and life.

Platform statement
We are at a time of unprecedented support for career and technical education across the country. As Region III vice president-elect, I would focus our work on elevating the importance of CTE to new levels. I pledge to support your ongoing effort in guiding students to be future-ready leaders, to help fuel the passion for CTE you bring to communities across the region, and to build and sustain effective business and industry partnerships. Creating and maintaining strong business and industry partnerships gives ACTE affiliates and its members more influence to grow career awareness, exploration, CTE programs, and work-based learning opportunities for all students across Region III and the country. Strong business and industry partnership can help to lead to more funding and legislation to support CTE at both the state and national levels. Over the past four years I have partnered with other leaders across Illinois to advocate for and secure over $20 million in additional CTE funding. And I have worked with industry partners to pass legislation requiring CTE coursework as a high school graduation requirement. As Region III VP-elect, I would work to expand this network, helping to grow CTE for the benefit of all.
