CTE Administrator Huddles (Virtual)

CTE Administrator Huddles are monthly, one-hour virtual sessions beginning in October, designed to support the professional growth, leadership development, and collaboration of Career and Technical Education (CTE) administrators across Michigan. These sessions will focus on timely topics critical to the effective management and continuous improvement of local CTE programs. Sessions will cover the fundamentals of the New Program Application process, understanding and completing the 4033 Expenditure Report, and the key responsibilities administrators should know regarding CTE program operations—including the Four Components of a CTE Program and the use of curricular frameworks. Additional topics will include managing credentials, instructional design tied to concentrator and completer status, and expectations related to the CIP Self-Review.

CTE Teacher Huddles (Virtual)

CTE Teacher Huddles are monthly, one-hour virtual sessions beginning in October, designed to support the ongoing professional development and collaboration of Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers across Michigan. These sessions will address timely and relevant topics aligned with high-quality CTE program implementation and continuous improvement. Topics will include the use of demographic data in the CIP Self-Review process and an open Q\&A, effective student leadership activities through CTSOs and local strategies, guidance on Perkins V state-approved and supplemental credentials, and approaches to conducting meaningful classroom walkthroughs. Sessions will also cover the Four Components of a CTE Program—Instructional Design, Curriculum Planning, CIP Self-Review, and Program Advisory Committees—as well as strategies for wrapping up the first semester and launching the second with renewed focus.

CTE Paraprofessional Workshop

The CTE Paraprofessionals Workshop is designed to enhance participants’ understanding of the roles, responsibilities, and professional expectations of paraprofessionals in Career and Technical Education (CTE) classrooms. Led by current CTE paraprofessionals and MI ACTE Board Members, the workshop will focus on strengthening collaboration within instructional teams and supporting student success. Key topics will include reinforcing instruction, supporting the whole child, working with students in special populations, maintaining confidentiality, and effective communication. Participants will also have the opportunity to engage in collaborative discussions and share best practices with peers.

CTE Teacher Support Workshop

In partnership with the Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE), MI ACTE members and OCTE Education Consultants will present an overview of the Four Components of a CTE Program, Instructional Design, Curriculum Planning, CIP Self-Review, and Program Advisory Committees. The session will also highlight additional CTE-related topics and introduce valuable resources, including the CTE Teacher Toolkit, the Advisory Committee Toolkit, and other tools to support high-quality program implementation.
