CTE Administrator Mentoring Program
CTE Administrator Mentoring Program
The CTE Administrator Mentoring Program is a three-year structured support system designed to build strong leaders at both the district (Local CTE Administrator) and regional (CEPD Administrator) levels. It provides a blend of cohort-based learning and individualized mentoring, ensuring administrators gain technical knowledge, leadership skills, and confidence needed to manage Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs effectively.
The program begins with monthly meetings in Year 1 to establish foundations, transitions to bi-monthly meetings in the second semester of Year 2 as administrators advance to more complex skills and then maintains a bi-monthly structure in Year 3 with a focus on sustainability and mentoring new leaders. The mentoring journey follows a natural progression:
- Foundational Skill-Building (Year 1)
- Advanced Leadership (Year 2)
- Long-Term Sustainability & Mentoring (Year 3)
Local CTE Administrator Program
Purpose: To prepare new district-level administrators to lead local CTE programs, ensure compliance, and align their district with regional CEPD priorities.
CEPD Administrator Program
Purpose: To prepare regional leaders to lead multiple districts, guide Perkins and CLNA planning, and ensure consistency, quality, and innovation across CTE systems.
Engagement Structure:
- Cohort Mentoring: Monthly/bi-monthly sessions with groups of administrators focusing on shared topics such as compliance, equity, fiscal leadership, and program innovation. These sessions promote networking, peer learning, and regional consistency.
- Individual Mentoring: One-on-one guidance tailored to the administrator’s district or CEPD context. This includes reviewing portfolios, setting personalized growth goals, data management support, fiscal oversight coaching, and leadership development.
The CTE Administrator Mentoring Program intentionally scaffolds leadership development over three years, beginning with strong technical and compliance foundations, advancing to leadership and innovation, and culminating in long-term sustainability and mentoring of new leaders.
