Open Board Member Positions
Dear Michigan ACTE Members:
The most recent Board elections were conducted in August and September 2024, with seven candidates contesting three available positions. The elected Board members were Trent Bellinger, Lucas Schruaben, and Shannon Williams. At present, all Board seats are occupied.
Expectations include:
- Regular attendance at Board meetings, typically held on the second Friday of each month (some virtual, some in person).
- Participation in the annual summer workshop (July 13–15, 2026, in Grand Haven; future years TBD).
- Serving as a subcommittee chair (Communications, Professional Development, Membership, Awards, Legislative & Advocacy) and as a member of a second subcommittee.
- Assisting with the planning and delivery of statewide professional development (e.g., MI ACTE Summer CTE Conference, CTE Teacher Support Workshops).
- Demonstrating a strong commitment to advancing and improving Career & Technical Education in Michigan.
Who is eligible to vote?
Only current MI ACTE members are eligible to vote in Board elections. If you’re not yet a member, we encourage you to join!
