Association of
Career & Technical
Education Administrators

Welcome back to the 2021-2022 school year!

As we approach a new school year with similar uncertainty and navigation surrounding the COVID pandemic, we will additionally face new challenges as our students and staff return to full in-person instruction – some with anxiety and emotional distress, others with a sense of normalcy and relief.  In my 20+ years in Career and Technical Education across New York State, I have had the privilege to work with some of the most caring, committed, innovative, and flexible educators and that privilege continues today.  This leaves me with a sense of serenity that we will continue to support, educate, foster, nurture, and challenge our students and staff to meet the future needs of America!

I challenge our ACTEA members to remain steady and on track by modeling high expectations, confidence, compassion, and empathy.  Now more than ever our students and staff need us to remain consistent and confident in our approach.

Your ACTEA Executive Board and I remain committed to the Goals and Mission.  This past summer, as announced at the ACTEA 2021 Town Hall Business Meeting, your board met and resumed progress on the goals within the Strategic Plan. We will continue to provide updates on those goals and plans which can be found on our website.

On behalf of the ACTEA Executive Board, our Executive Director and I, we wish you a successful 2021-2022 school year.
