Welcome from President
Welcome to the DC ACTE Website
My name is Candice Mott and I am honored to serve as the president of DC ACTE. Thank you for entrusting me with continuing the work of this great association that started 37 years ago.
When I think about Nannie Helen Burroughs, The National Trade and Professional School for Women and Girls, or Phelps Vocational School, I think about the District’s long, rich history in career and technical education (CTE). These institutions educated countless DC residents over the last 100 years and set the foundation for CTE in our city. This legacy is important to us, and how we position CTE within the District will determine its longevity for another 100 years. DC ACTE is back and ready to support our members, CTE students, and stakeholders through educational leadership to develop a competitive workforce.
DC ACTE is committed to the professional growth and support of its members. I excited to grow our professional community in addition to preparing CTE students for high-wage, high-skill, and high-demand careers. Please join us on this journey! If you have any ideas, concerns, or interests pertaining to DC ACTE, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
