WeeCat Industries: Educating the Future
With an ever-growing demand for a skilled workforce, business and industry leaders are begging K–12 school systems to begin educating students on employability skills prior to high school. The heart and true success of any career and technical education (CTE) program lies in its ability to prepare students for success, not only in a career field, but in life. An effort to foster the employability skills that students gain from participating in such programs is the driving force behind WeeCat Industries. In Enterprise City Schools, nestled inside a rural town in southeast Alabama, such principles as leadership, teamwork, critical thinking and positive work ethic transformed the instructional framework of WeeCats Preschool into the emerging WeeCat Industries, which meets the same standards of quality, productivity and financial performance as a real-world company.
