Things Go Better With Snow, Even NPS 2014!

With the meteorologist sounding like a broken record by predicting SNOW for D.C., the ACTE Fellows Class of 2014 were traveling from across the country to meet each other for the first time on Sunday, March 2nd at the ACTE National Policy Seminar.
I can't speak for the other Fellows, but for me, I was very excited to meet and get to know the other six Fellows members during the next four days.

Some of the highlights of NPS for the Fellows class was having the opportunity to sit in on the ACTE Board of Director's meeting and participate in the State Leadership Training Program on Sunday. NPS kicked off on a snowy Monday and the Fellows were involved in the First-timers pre-session as well as, listening to a great "No Labels" keynote address from Kiki McLain. Tuesday and Wednesday were filled with legislative updates on WIA, HEA, ESEA, IDEA and trips to Capitol Hill to meet with our State's lawmakers.

It's practically impossible to capture everything that took place during the four days at NPS. However, if you are interested in learning more about our ACTE organization, hearing knowledgeable speakers present updates on federal policies that affect your day to day careers, and having the opportunity to sit down face-to-face with law makers from your state, then I would highly recommend attending National Policy Seminar in 2015.
