High School & Postsecondary Scholarship Applications
The South Dakota Association of Career and Technical Education (SDACTE) Scholarship is awarded to high school and/or college applicants. Scholarship applications are due on April 1st, 2023, with all required information. The following scholarship application has 5 Sections involving:
- Personal Information
- Instructor Information
- Essay’s
- Letter of Recommendation (From CTE Instructor listed above)
- Unofficial or Official transcript
The recipient of this scholarship must meet the following criteria:
- Is graduating from a South Dakota high school with the class of 2023.
- Is applying to or accepted by a program at any South Dakota Technical Institute or University in one of the following fields: Health, Business, Trade and Industry, Marketing, AFNR, or FCS.
- Will be a full time postsecondary student during the 2022-2023 school year.
- Has demonstrated scholastic achievement.
Recipients of the scholarship will be notified no later than July 1st, 2023. Recipients are encouraged to attend the awards recognition dinner on July 31st, 2023 in Madison, SD.

Award of Merit Application
Innovative CTE Program Award
This is an award being presented at the Region V Leadership Conference. Each state is allowed to submit one program that will be recognized at the Region conference. Each SDACTE division may submit one program to represent its division. These programs should be submitted to SDACTE President Bobbie Jo Donovan (bobbiejo.donovan@k12.sd.us) no later than February 13th. The Board of Directors will select the state winner at its face to face meeting in Madison, February 15th. This program in turn will be recognized at the yearly regional conference in Rapid City April 9th.
Description: This award is presented in recognition of innovative CTE programs that are unique, novel, and are serving to improve and promote the image of CTE.
Qualifications:
- Must be a state approved CTE program(s)
- The instructor(s) must be SDACTE member(s)
How to apply:
Submit the name of the school and answer the following questions about each program offered at the school:
- The accomplishments and innovations that exhibit the quality of the school for the award
- Contributions to the CTE community (can include activities within their institutions, communities, ACTE and other organizations)
- What steps or certifications are taken to prepare students for further education and career success
