ACTE Announces Illinois Faculty as National Award Finalist

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Today, the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) announced Robert Clark, Faculty HVACR at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, as the 2019 ACTE Region III Postsecondary Teacher of The Year. This award recognizes the finest career and technical education (CTE) teachers at the postsecondary level who have demonstrated innovation in the classroom, commitment to their students and dedication to the improvement of CTE in their institution and communities.

Clark is the HVACR Coordinator at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. The College of DuPage is one of the largest community colleges in the nation and is located 20 miles west of Chicago.  Bob has a background in HVACR, industrial maintenance, automation, instrumentation, and electrical control systems and strategies. He earned his doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in CTE and holds multiple active industry recognized licenses and certifications. Clark is a member of multiple national education groups, multiple industry driven workforce groups, and he organizes professional development opportunities for CTE educators across the nation.

Clark is one of five finalists for the 2020 national title. The national winner will be announced at the ACTE Awards Gala, a dinner and award presentation recognizing the best CTE educators in the country. The event will take place on Wednesday evening, December 4, during ACTE’s CareerTech VISION 2019 in Anaheim, CA.
