This award recognizes the finest career and technical teachers at the postsecondary level who have demonstrated innovation in the classroom, commitment to their students and dedication to the improvement of CTE in their institution and communities.
Linda Bean has been a business educator for 45 years. During that time, she has taught at the secondary and postsecondary level. As advisor to FBLA, Phi Beta Lambda and Enactus over the years, she has also guided students to improve their skills in interviewing and marketing themselves as professionals.
Bean has also served as vice president, past president and president of the ABEA, from which she received the Outstanding Leader of the Year Award in 2012. She has also served as Arkansas ACTE President, Vice President, and Past President as well as the Arkansas Association of Teacher Educators in the same capacity.
Bean is one of 5 finalists for the 2019 national title. The national winner will be announced at the ACTE Awards Banquet, a dinner and award presentation recognizing the best CTE educators in the country. The event will take place on Wednesday evening, November 28, during ACTE’s CareerTech VISION 2018 in San Antonio, TX.
