In addition to teaching, Wilson is also a Mentor Coordinator for new teachers in her building. She understands the importance of modeling and supporting new teachers.
During her tenure, Wilson was nominated for the Agnes Meyer Award, voted by her colleagues in 2014. In 2018, she was selected as the Outstanding Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher of the Year, and recognized as the 2019 Virginia Association for Career and Technical Education Teacher of the Year.
Wilson is one of five finalists for the 2020 national title.
