On the Move


August 2017

  • Held our quarterly meeting with Advance CTE to review collaborative efforts. 
  • Met with the National Academies to review their recent report on Building America’s Skilled Technical Workforce.
  • Held our our annual meeting with the U.S. Army to discuss potential 2018 partnership activities. 
  • Collaborated with the Horatio Alger Association on a statement highlighting ACTE’s work with the organization’s scholarship efforts.
  • Coordinated with the Campaign to Invest in America’s Workforce on a letter in support of funding for CTE and workforce development. 
  • Attended briefings hosted by the Committee for Education Funding.
  • Met with members of the House and Senate education appropriations subcommittees to discuss Fiscal Year 2018 funding for Perkins.
  • Worked with representatives from the National Writing Project on a Hill briefing for the fall. 
  • Held introductory meetings with staff members from the offices of Representatives Stephanie Murphy, Jacky Rosen, Roger Marshall and Ro Khanna
  • Met with Senator Dianne Feinstein’s staff.
  • Presented information about ACTE to Murray State University CTE students 
  • Met in collaboration with the following organizations: Bright Ideas; The New Teacher Project; and Interview Success Formula.
  • Attended and presented at the following state summer conferences including:
    • Alabama ACTE Conferenc
    • North Dakota CTE Professional Development Conference
    • Oklahoma ACTE Annual Conference
