CTEANJ is an organization of career and technical education associations/organizations representing such areas as, but not limited to, Administration; Adult Workforce Development; Agricultural Education; Business and Technology Education; Cooperative Education; Family and Consumer Sciences Education; Health Occupations Education; Industrial Arts Education; Marketing Education; School-to-Work/Careers; Special Needs Education; Tech Prep; Technology Education; Trade and Industrial Education; or groups organized for similar purposes.

- Policy Development To advocate national, state and local public policy to benefit career and technical education.
- Knowledge Connectivity To act as a clearinghouse for education and information relating to all aspects of career and technical education while providing access for professional development through programs, workshops, conferences, services and opportunities that will ultimately benefit all students.

The National ACTE Excellence Awards seek to promote excellence in career and technical education by recognizing individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the field, programs that exemplify the highest standards and organizations that have conducted activities to promote and expand career and technical education programs. Please see recent changes to the program.
ACTE has provided an extension for Regional awards. The ACTE extension for New Jersey/CTEANJ is May 1, 2013. To meet this deadline, all award applications must be in by April 1, 2013. New Jersey applications can be sent to John Hillard, 636 N. Coles Avenue, Maple Shade, NJ 08052. An awards review committee will be formed at the CTEANJ executive committee meeting on March 11, 2013.
The William M. Devonald Scholarship is awarded to five qualifying
students enrolled in a CTE program with plans
to pursue postsecondary education at a two-year or four-year college,
apprenticeship program or career
and technical school. Please submit the application by March 4, 2013.
The CTEANJ Scholarship Applications will be read and scored at the CTEANJ executive committee meeting on March 11, 2013.
CTEANJ Officer Nominations
Nominations for Vice President-Membership, Recording Secretary and Treasurer will be accepted at the CTEANJ executive committee meeting on March 11, 2013. Each affiliate should have a representative to serve on the Nominating Committee who brings names to the table. For example: John Neyhart said he will be the Agriculture representative, Dr. Kelley for NJCEA, Til Dallavalle for Marketing. Board members are also encouraged to suggest nominees to the Nominating Committee.
