It is an honor to serve as President of the Massachusetts Vocational Association. I have been a member of the MVA since 2001, having past served as a building representative, chapter board member and president, and executive board member.
In the past few years, the MVA has experienced many exciting changes in the organization. These changes include the launching of our new interactive website, the centralization of our annual conference venue, an increase in membership, and a strong collaboration with our parent organization, the ACTE. It is my hope that our progress will continue. I realize that without the dedication of our entire executive board, the organization’s success would not be possible.
Our executive board looks forward to working with and supporting our entire membership to help in ensuring the continued success of CTE. The MVA continues to provide student scholarships, supports student organizations, such as SkillsUSA, DECA, and BPA, to name a few. We also look forward to continuing a great alliance with the Massachusetts Association for Vocational Administrators (MAVA) with professional development and student award recognition. We will continue to monitor “behind the scenes” legislation, and act accordingly on behalf of the membership.
On a final note, our annual MVA Conference has been providing opportunities for networking, collaboration, professional development, and up to date information on legislative matters regarding CTE and employment for many years. I hope to see this conference and its offerings continue to grow and serve the needs of its members. Therefore, I look forward to receiving your suggestions, feedback, and recommendations. All feedback will be submitted to the executive board for review. Please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
