ASSOCIATION FOR CAREER & TECHNICAL EDUCATION

State Association Task Force

A A A

 State Task Force Charter

Purpose

The mission of the State Task Force is to identify ways to grow membership in the state associations as well as strengthen the state associations.

Objectives

Review the findings of the Region Task Force and conduct additional research to determine the cause of the membership decrease and why some state associations have declined.  How/why has membership in the states declined? How/why has leadership in the state associations decreased?

Develop best practices for membership growth from the states.  A survey is recommended to solicit this information.

Determine how ACTE can support and strengthen the state associations, since it seems that the strength of the state association is correlated to its membership growth.

Membership

The Task Force will consist of not less than six (6) and not more than twelve (12) members.  It is recommended that the Task Force consist of state association leaders whose states have experienced growth over the past 10 years.  Members must have the ability and time to actively engage in the work of the Task Force.

Outcome

The State Task Force is charged with reporting to the ACTE Board of Directors a summary of its completed work by March 2015.
