This session will also preview an upcoming resource for new CTE administrators.


Expanding Your Administrator Skills: Concentrating on Reality Education
Presenters: Drs. Larae Watkins and Michelle Conrad, University of Central Missouri

CTE administrators serve in the unique role as instructional leaders for teachers. Central New Mexico/College and Career High School Tour (includes light refreshments) 
Date/Time: Wednesday, Sept. 27, 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Cost: $40

Kick off your Best Practices experience by visiting the innovative concept of the College and Career High School on the Central New Mexico College Campus. Attendees will see how students transition through their secondary experience into their early college learning. Attendees will enjoy light refreshments to wrap up their tour.

Atrisco Heritage Academy High School Tour
Date/Time: Wednesday, Sept. 27, 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Cost: $40

Spend the afternoon touring Albuquerque’s premier CTE Academy at Atrisco Heritage Academy High School.

Welcome Event: Anderson-Abruzzo International Balloon Museum Tour & Dinner 

BP Dinner   Date/Time: Wednesday, Sept. 27, 6-9 p.m.
Cost: $60

Join your CTE administrator peers from across the nation for a very special evening at the world famous Balloon Museum. This special dinner will feature a delectable Southwestern menu (yes, including green chiles), live entertainment, and private access to the museum and festival grounds. 

Industry Tour: Rio Bravo Brewing Company

Date/Time: Thursday, Sept. 28, 6- 9 p.m.
Cost: $50

Wrap up your first day at the Best Practices and Innovations conference with a behind the scenes look at one of the fastest growing industries in New Mexico, the craft brewing sector. You’ll be able to tour the Rio Bravo Brewing Company while learning about the only Associates Degree offered in the country with a major in Master Brewcraft. The Rio Bravo Brewing Company is a partner with Central New Mexico in their Brewing and Beverage Management program. They offer two certificate programs and a full two-year AAS degree.
