On August 4, 2013, the National Governor’s Association (NGA) appointed Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin as its new Chair. After the announcement, Gov. Fallin introduced her 2013-14 NGA Chair’s Initiative called America Works: Education and Training for Tomorrow’s Jobs.

In response to the House Committee on Education and the Workforce's request for Higher Education Act recommendations, ACTE surveyed its membership and submitted a letter of recommendation to Chairman Kline (R-MN) and Ranking Member Miller (D-CA).
