  • Report Shows State-by-state Sequester Cut for CTE

    This week, the National Education Association (NEA) released a report that shows the cuts in federal education funding, including Perkins, state-by-state in Fiscal Year (FY) 2013. Based on the most recent estimates from the U.S. Department of Education, these tables illustrate the significant reductions in federal support to states in the wake of sequestration.

  • Department Announces ESEA Waiver Renewal

    The U.S. Department of Education announced today that states who have received a waiver from requirements of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) may submit a renewal application to extend their waiver through 2016. Currently, waivers issued during the 2012-13 school year are set to expire at the end of this school year.

    Pathways programs are holding steady or growing, despite funding challenges, reported respondents of a survey conducted by the National Center for College and Career Transitions. This view from the field is generally positive, while showing areas in which there is room for improvement.
