The nominations are open for the 2025-26 Annual Awards from the Alaska ACTE!\u00a0 Award nominations are due by September 26, 2025.<\/p>\n<p><b><i><a href=\"https:\/\/acte.secure-platform.com\/a\/organizations\/AK\/home\">Click here<\/a> to submit an award nomination!<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Individuals, groups, or teams are eligible for recognition in the following six categories:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Teacher of the Year<\/li>\n<li>Administrator of the Year<\/li>\n<li>Postsecondary Professional of the Year<\/li>\n<li>Counseling and Career Development Professional Award<\/li>\n<li>New Teacher of the Year<\/li>\n<li>Teacher Educator of the Year<\/li>\n<li>Carl Perkins Community Service Award<\/li>\n<li>Lifetime Achievement Award<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>A complete nomination package includes:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The name of the person (if a team or program, identify ONE individual representative<\/li>\n<li>The category of the award.<\/li>\n<li>THREE letters of recommendation. This award recognizes administrative CTE professionals who have demonstrated leadership in ensuring teacher and student success and have made significant contributions toward innovative, unique and effective career and technical education programs.<\/p>\n<p>Criteria: Contributions to teacher and student success. Innovations in CTE. Leadership in the local or greater CTE community.<\/p>\n<p>Community Service Award:<br \/>\nRecipients may or may not be professional educators. This award recognizes individuals who have used CTE to make a significant impact on their community and demonstrated leadership in programs and activities that promote student involvement in community service.<\/p>\n<p>Criteria: Leadership in furthering community service or improvement. Innovation in integrating community service into their CTE program. Contributions to student learning and success.<\/p>\n<p>Career Guidance Award:<br \/>\nThis award recognizes school counselors and career development and workforce development professionals who have demonstrated commitment to connecting students with opportunities for success, shown innovation in career exploration and development, and have advocated for CTE.<\/p>\n<p>Criteria: Contributions to student success. Innovations in career exploration and development. Leadership in advocating \u00a0for CTE as a viable option for all students.<\/p>\n<p>Innovative Program Award:<br \/>\nRecipients may or may not be professional educators. This award recognizes innovative career and technical education programs that are unique and serve to improve and promote career and technical education and workforce development.<\/p>\n<p>Criteria: The program must demonstrate a capacity to prepare graduates to perform successfully in an occupational field and exemplify the highest standards within its occupational field. Staff must be involved in an in-service program to \u00a0keep abreast of technological changes in their occupational field. The program must have been in operation for at least three years.<\/p>\n<p>**The Alaska ACTE Award categories have been updated to align with Region V and the National Association for Career and Technical Education Awards.
