Utah ACTE Post-Secondary Teacher of the Year
Selected as this year’s recipient for the Utah ACTE’s Post-Secondary Teacher of the year is Randall Violett. Randall is an Agriculture Assistant Professor at Southern Utah University. Noted among his many contributions to CTE is his passion for educating the teachers and youth of the state and linking employment opportunities within the public land management agencies. He developed a curriculum that prepares his students for successful and prosperous careers in public land management. With a 79% placement rate and an curricular internship platform, his program has garnered both regional and national recognition. Randall currently recognizes the shortage of qualified secondary agriculture educators as a major concern for the Universities Agriculture Program and has started the process of developing an Agriculture Teacher Training degree at SUU. Randall is very involved in the area communities from judging livestock shows to helping with the 3rd grade Agriculture Day for Iron County. He serves on several committees sharing his passion for both agriculture and STEM.
