ACTE Online Communities

ACTE has several online forums to meet different needs. To share resources and participate in in-depth discussions with fellow members, log in to the ACTE Communities of Practice. To meet others interested in CTE and keep up with ACTE news, try the ACTE profiles and groups on Facebook and MySpace. And to view and share photos and videos, visit the ACTE flickr photo gallery and SchoolTube channel.

ACTE Communities of Practice (CoP)

http://cop.acteonline.org/COP

A members-only Web site where you can form communities, share resources, take polls and have in-depth discussions with fellow CTE professionals. Requires you to log in; typically, the username is your member ID and the password is your last name.

Communities include the ACTE Main community, communities for ACTE Divisions and committees, and more.

ACTE on MySpace

On the MySpace profile, connect with others interested in career and technical education, listen to ACTE podcasts, watch ACTE videos and keep up with news on the ACTE blog. Get more involved with the MySpace group, where you can start discussions and post bulletins.

ACTE Photo & Video Sharing

View photos from ACTE events, mark ACTE photos as favorites and share your images with ACTE on the flickr photo gallery. On SchoolTube, watch ACTE public service announcements, Convention videos and Webcast excerpts and add ACTE videos to your Web site.

Post ACTE Videos on your Web site

SchoolTube

To embed the following ACTE SchoolTube Mini Video Player (MVP), which includes a playlist of ACTE videos such as student-produced PSAs, legislators speaking on the importance of CTE, the student-produced Convention 2007 montage and videos from the Arizona state association, click on “Add to your site …” below the player below. A new page will open. Choose the ACTE playlist and add the code to your Web site.

Contact Catherine Imperatore with questions and suggestions or if you are interested in participating more in ACTE online communities.

ACTE Blogs

ACTE blogs, written and moderated by members, give career and technical educators an opportunity to share their opinions and find out where their colleagues stand on the latest issues in CTE. They include news and discussions on how to encourage students and how to get the CTE message out. Anyone can read and comment on the blogs.

Division Blogs

Division blogs focus on topics of interest to each Division and to CTE in general. Links to Division blogs will be added here as the blogs are launched throughout fall 2007 and 2008.
