lways learn from your mistakes. Remember that no one is perfect.

Build relationships by getting involved in your professional and school activities.

Communicate with parents on a regular basis.

Develop your own teaching style.

Establish rules in the classroom.

Find time to get involved in your students? extra-curricular activities.

Get to know all the teachers in your school.

Have the courage to try something else if what you?re doing isn?t working.

Institute a clear discipline policy and enforce it consistently.

Join your professional association ? ACTE ? your membership helps you and strengthens the profession.

Keep your students engaged and involved.

Learn the school?s policies and procedures.

Make a good impression on your students by always being prepared.

Network with other colleagues during meetings.

Organize yourself and show your students how to get organized.

Project a positive image for yourself and the profession.

Quit worrying and remember that you are doing your best.

Reach out to the parents of your students when you need help.

Seek mentors and have regular exchanges.

Take pride in your accomplishments. Don?t hesitate to tell the critics that you and your colleagues are doing great things for the students.

Understand that teaching is a learning process that involves the students, parents and your colleagues.

Volunteer to share your ideas with others.

Write in a journal and reflect on what you?ve accomplished after the end of the year.

X-ray vision would be helpful in determining how it all turns out.

You are a role model for other teachers so always be professional.

Zero in on your strengths. You have a lot to offer career and technical education.
