A Parking Dilemma Students analyze and solve a problem where students without a permit have been parking illegally in either assigned spaces or faculty parking areas. Students set up rules, brainstorm solutions and implement. Secondary.
Career Research Project Students identify a career of interest, research it, interview someone currently employed in that position, shadow someone currently employed in that position, and create a brochure or presentation. Secondary.
Giving and Taking Directions The student will write a set of written directions in either chart or paragraph form. The task must be a task from his/her craft area (i.e. welding technology, machine tool technology, automotive technology, etc.) He or she will give the directions orally to a third party who will listen to the directions and complete the task.
Job Shadow Presentation The students will be excused from school one day to go shadow someone in a working environment.
Time Management Sudents read an autobiography excert and then complete a time management project with three parts, including tracking his/her time on a chart for three days, and planning the next three days. Secondary.
WOW Interviews As a result of previously completed and submitted job applications (from Job Kit Project), a Human Relations representative from Workplace of the World, Inc. will interview 5 students from one class.
