ALEXANDRIA, VA – The Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) announces that Lindsay McQuiggan of Hamburg, New York has been selected as the winner of the 2007 Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month Logo Design Contest.  A student at Potter Career and Technical Center, McQuiggan captured her second straight logo contest win.  The graphic art student submitted the winner logo last year as well.

In response to ACTE members, the Association expanded Career and Technical Education Week to Career and Technical Education Month, beginning February 2007.

McQuiggan plans to continue to study graphic design next fall at Erie Community College. In order to earn some extra money for school and continue honing her design skills, McQuiggan is working a part-time at a local design shop, Graffiti Grafix & Signs.

McQuiggan’s design was selected from numerous entries submitted by students from across the country.  Her design, which incorporates this year’s theme “Career Tech: Today an Education, Tomorrow a Career,” will showcase national CTE Month, February 2007.  Her design will be featured on thousands of 2007 CTE Month promotional products which are ordered by schools from around the country.

For more information on CTE Month, the CTE Month Logo Design contest, or to order products from the CTE Month Product Guide visit http://www.acteonline.org/ctemonth/index.cfm.  You may also contact Jennifer Munger via e-mail at jmunger@acteonline.org or by phone at (703) 683-3111.

The Association for Career and Technical Education is the national professional association for the field of career and technical education.  ACTE’s membership numbers more than 30,000 teachers, counselors and administrators at the middle school, high school and postsecondary levels.
