ALEXANDRIA, VA ? As government, business and educators struggle to perfect the connection between education and careers, the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) will be meeting in Las Vegas in December to discuss issues of critical importance to educators.

ACTE?s Annual Convention (December 12-15, 2002 in Las Vegas, Nevada) is the country?s premier conference for career and technical education professionals. It offers hundreds of educational sessions to help educators stay current with broad trends in the field as well as practical techniques for the classroom.

Three new ACTE session tracks on technology, legislative and regulatory trends, and personal growth will present in-depth sessions in these areas.

The technology track includes sessions about using online courses and teaching tools, Webcasts, growing a Web site, online communities, handheld organizations and more.

The public policy track includes an in-depth discussion of the Perkins Act reauthorization, OVAE?s plans for testing and accountability systems, and many more.

The personal growth track addresses issues related to stress management and overcoming burnout.
