ALEXANDRIA, VA -- With the education environment changing every day, educators are examining adult workforce development, career planning for every student, and workplace ethics. These issues will be prominent themes of the Annual Convention and Career Tech Expo of the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE).
More than 300 education sessions will be devoted to a wide range of education issues ranging from business education to family and consumer sciences education.
Other presentations will include the future of workforce development, preparing students for tomorrow?s careers, and managing the Internet revolution.
General Session speakers include Benjamin Zander, the renowned conductor and founder of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra [Thursday], and Glen Hiemstsra, a nationally respected futurist [Friday]. Eileen McDargh will address issues on how to work smarter and live more happily [Saturday], and Mark Therrien, will discuss helping organizations and people create joyful workplaces [Sunday].
The media facilities for the convention will be in the Las Vegas Convention Center, Room 216. The News Room will be open for on-site media registration from December 12-15 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The News Room will contain registration packets, news releases, and notices of any Media Briefings or newsworthy events.
