ALEXANDRIA, VA- The Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) announces that Dr. Susan Sclafani, Acting Assistant Secretary for Vocational and Adult Education and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Vocational and Adult Education, Hans Meeder will address attendees of the ACTE Annual Convention to be held December 11-14 in Orlando, Florida.
Dr. Sclafani will share her thoughts on career and technical education issues at the conference’s Opening General Session, Thursday, December 11. Mr. Meeder and Dr. Sclafani, will also conduct a session sharing the Administration’s plans for the upcoming reauthorization of the Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act as well as their vision for the future of career and technical education, Thursday afternoon.
Prior to being appointed the Acting Assistant Secretary for Vocational and Adult Education by President Bush, Dr. Sclafani served as a counselor to Secretary Paige and advised him on all education issues and initiatives. Hans Meeder’s background in education policy includes a broad expertise in workforce trends, research on effective practice, and education accountability systems.
