ALEXANDRIA, VA ? The following members took their place on the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) Board of Directors, and the 2003-2004 President and President-elect were installed during the Board meeting held on July 18-19, 2003.
will serve as the 2003-2004 President. He is currently Executive Dean at Austin Community College in Texas and serves on the business management faculty. Prior to that, he was the associate state director for business/industrial training and development at the Ohio Department of Education Division of Career, Technical and Adult Education, where he had also served as assistant state director for business industrial training and development. He holds an MA in vocational administration and a BS in marketing education, both from The Ohio State University.
of Meeker, Oklahoma will serve as 2003-2004 President-elect. She is Director of Adult Education at Eastern Oklahoma County Technology Center in Choctaw. She holds an Ed.D. from Oklahoma State University, an M.Ed. from the University of Central Oklahoma and a BS from Oklahoma State University. She has previously served on the ACTE Board as the Region IV Vice President and served as the Executive Committee Region Representative.
of Olympia, Washington will serve as Region V Vice President. She is the Executive Director and a Registered Lobbyist for ACTE in the state of Washington. She is a graduate of Olympia Vocational Technical College and South Puget Sound Community College. She is an ACTE Life Member and serves as the National Executive Directors Association Treasurer.
of Kokomo, Indiana will serve as Administration Division Vice President. He is the Director of the Kokomo Area Career Center in Kokomo. He received both his MS and BS in Secondary Education from Indiana State University. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction at Purdue University. He served on the ACTE Nominating Committee as well as the Indiana ACTE Marketing and Public Information Committee.
of Cincinnati, Ohio will serve as Adult Workforce Development Division Vice President. He is Director, External Operations AWDD at Great Oaks Institute of Technology and Career Development. He received his BS and MA in Education degrees from the University of Cincinnati. He is President of Ohio ACTE and has served as Chairman of the Futures Forum for Ohio ACTE.
of Raleigh, North Carolina will serve as Agricultural Education Division Vice President. He is a Professor at North Carolina State University. He earned his PhD and MS in Agricultural Education from The Ohio State University. He received his BS in Agricultural Education from Tarleton State University. He has served as the Agricultural Education Division Secretary.
of Sioux City, Iowa will serve as Guidance Division Vice President. She is a School Counselor and Facilitator of the Beginning Educator Mentor Program for Community Schools in Sioux City. She received her School Administration Endorsement from Drake University, and her MS and BS in Education from Central Missouri University. She is a contributor to the ACTE publication Techniques and serves on the Guidance Policy Committee.
of Wayne, Oklahoma will serve as Health Occupations Education Division Vice President. She is a Practical Nursing Instructor/Coordinator at the Mid-America Technology Center in Oklahoma. She received her M.Ed. in Secondary Administration and her BA in Psychology from the University of Central Oklahoma. Her Diploma in Nursing was received from the Mastin School of Nursing. She has served on the ACTE-HOE Policy and Finance/Budget Committees.
of Lexington, Kentucky will serve as Special Needs Division Vice President. She is a retired special needs teacher. She was a Kentucky Department of Education Perkins Program Consultant. She received her MA and BS in Business Education at Eastern Kentucky University. She has served on the ACTE Special Needs Policy Committee as well as on the Special Needs Division Convention Planning Committee.
