ALEXANDRIA, VA – Congressman Ron Kind (D-WI) will be honored as one of the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) 2005 National Policymakers of the Year on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 during the ACTE annual National Policy Seminar in Washington, DC.
ACTE is honoring Representative Kind for his commitment to the field of career and technical education, which ensure that youth and adults are prepared for the future by building their skills for the careers of today and tomorrow.
Representative Kind serves on the House of Representatives Education and the Workforce, Resources and Budget Committees.
“ACTE is pleased to honor policy makers such as Representative Kind, who have made significant contributions in assuring the growth and improvement of the career and technical education programs that strengthen the American workforce and contribute to economic development in communities across the county,” stated ACTE President Francie Russell.

The Association for Career and Technical Education is the national professional association for the field of career and technical education. Now in its 79th year, ACTE’s membership numbers more than 30,000 teachers, counselors and administrators at the middle school, high school and postsecondary levels.
