ALEXANDRIA, VA – Congressman John Tierney (D-MA) will be honored as one of the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) 2005 National Policymakers of the Year on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 during the ACTE annual National Policy Seminar in Washington, DC.

ACTE is honoring Representative Tierney for his efforts to improve and strengthen career and technical education. “ACTE is pleased to honor policymakers such as Representative Tierney, who have made significant contributions in assuring the growth and improvement of the career and technical education programs that strengthen the American workforce, and contribute to economic development in communities across the county,” stated ACTE President Francie Russell.

"It is an honor to accept this award from ACTE. Now is the time when we must all do more for those looking to obtain assistance and new skills. Not less.
