Sign Up for News and Alerts

ACTE-Wire Legislative Alerts are available to all ACTE members and others interested in career and technical education policy. If you would like to keep up-to-date and join your colleagues in advocating for improved CTE policies, sign up to receive our Legislative Alerts. To start receiving Legislative Alerts, please choose one of the following options and complete the steps below:

For ACTE members (membership dues are current):
You will automatically receive the alerts if we have your e-mail address, but we may not have your correct e-mail address in our membership database.

  1. Go to the "E-mail Newsletter" page on ACTE’s Web site.
  2. Click on “ACTE Members: Subscribe/unsubscribe, add/change e-mail address here!”
  3. Log-in using your 6-digit ACTE member ID number and last name.
  4. Verify that the e-mail address shown for you is correct. If not, follow the directions to send ACTE your correct address.
  5. Verify and select the newsletters you would like to receive.  Legislative Alerts are sent out when there is breaking news in Washington.  Career Tech Update is sent out twice monthly and will include regular legislative updates.
  6. If the e-mail address shown is correct, and the Legislative Alert is checked but you have not been receiving alerts, contact your e-mail network system administrator or ISP to ensure that ACTE e-mail is not being identified as “spam,” and being blocked.

For nonmembers:

  1. Go to "Join the CTE Community" on ACTE’s Web site.
  2. Complete the registration form and click “Register.”
  3. A page will appear confirming your Username and Password—retain this information for future use.
  4. Click on the “Log-In” button in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
  5. Log-in using your new username and password.
  6. Check the box next to “Legislative Alert” to receive alerts, and click “Submit.” You may also subscribe to the free ACTE News.

If you have any questions or problems with either of these processes, please contact the ACTE Public Policy Department at 800-826-9972, or contact Jamie Baxter, ACTE's advocacy associate, and we will work with you to ensure you receive the valuable information our Legislative Alerts provide.
