When the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) presents Build Your Future 2002 on November 7, young people across the nation will have the opportunity to learn about careers in the construction industry.
The sixth annual career awareness program will air as a 25-minute program via satellite at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Eastern Time, and will feature interviews with craft professionals, construction managers and company owners at construction sites.
"The future of the construction industry is in our nation's schools," says 2002 NCCER Chairman Dave Bush. "It is critical that we tell young people, parents and teachers what a great industry construction is. Build Your Future 2002 presents a fantastic opportunity for contractors to get involved with local schools and begin preparing our next generation of construction craft professionals."
According to NCCER, Build Your Future 2002 will reach an estimated two million young people.
NCCER is a nonprofit education foundation established by construction companies and trade associations to address the workforce shortage in the industry and to develop a standardized training process and curricula. The organization is also a member of the ACTE Business-Education Partnership.
