This month, I kicked off my Educator-in-Residency here at ACTE
Headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia. My goal is to explore workforce
development issues and strategic partnerships to benefit CTE and ACTE
members as a whole. While purely coincidental, October also happens to
be Connected Educator Month. Curious about how other educators develop
connectedness, I decided to check things out at www.connectededucators.org.

I began my presentation with why it is important to be a leader in your
school, your community of peers, your students and your professional
organization on a state, regional and national level.

Our panelists, led by Dave Keaton, presented the work we have done thus
far in developing a draft Constitution and Bylaws for our proposed state
ACTE chapter. Maine is currently a non-unified state, and it is the
goal of this group to inform instructors of the overview of what we have
been doing, as well as the history of ACTE in our state.
