  • Literacy + CTE = College and Career Readiness

Each year, I always like to step outside my box and attend a professional development training that does not specifically relate to my career path. • STEM Program Moving Full Speed Ahead

I had the opportunity to serve in an external capacity as a part of the Teacher Enrichment Workshop in conjunction with the MAGEC-STEM PLUS (Minority Access to Graduate Education and Careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Plus). Given there are more sessions than there is time to attend, I'm reviewing program descriptions to plan my schedule. This prompts me to reflect on the bigger picture of conference participation and reasons for attending.

  • GoBuild Georgia Builds on Essential Career Readiness Skills

As a part of our governor's initiative to vastly enhance workforce development in the state of Georgia, an office was created to implement the Go Build Georgia program. The purpose of the program is to help dispel the myth of working in a skilled trade, appreciate the value of earning a skilled trade, and encourage them to build a career as tradesmen.
