Online Resources Support Job Seekers, Disconnected Youth

The U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration (ETA) has developed resources to help job seekers and CTE and workforce development professionals better identify high-wage, high-growth and high-demand occupations. These include an online guide to help job seekers, and those who support them, figure out which online occupational resources will best meet their needs. For instance, the guide lists which online sites share current job openings, employment projections, wage details, employment and unemployment data, education and training prerequisites, and much more. The ETA also has released a webinar, "Tangled Up in Data? - Putting Workforce Data to Work in Employment and Education Programs," to help educators and workforce development professionals use workforce data to identify growing, in-demand and high-quality jobs and the education and training needed for these jobs.

In addition, the Office of Management and Budget has created a website, findyouthinfo.gov, with resources to help those seeking to connect vulnerable youth back into employment, education or home. These tools include data sources, technical assistance and guides on topics such as youth employment, service learning and reconnecting youth back into pathways to college and career.
