The number of high school students taking CTE courses at community and
technical colleges in Kansas increased by about 50 percent in the
2012-2013 school year, the first year of new legislation that places the
responsibility for paying for those credits on the state, according to

2013 ACT-tested graduates continue to struggle to meet ACT's benchmarks
for readiness, while expressing little interest in STEM and fast-growing
career fields. These findings were highlighted in ACT's most recent
publication on The Condition of College and Career Readiness.
