The Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) announces that Jamie-Lyn Bacon of Tonawanda, New York has been selected as the winner of the 2008 Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month Logo Design Contest. A recent graduate of Harkness Career and Technical Center, Bacon was a student in the graphic design technology class.
Bacon is enrolled in the fall at Bryant and Stratton College to pursue an associate degree in Web design. She will continue on to a four-year college for graphic design and then plans to work on a master’s degree.
“Jamie is an outstanding student, who approaches her work successfully using the creative process and explores the many possibilities of each project,” according to instructor Roberta Schlehr.
Bacon’s design was selected from more than 600 entries submitted by students from across the country. Her design, which incorporates the 2008 CTE Month theme, “CTE: Discovering Skills for a Competitive Workforce,” will showcase national CTE Month, February 2008. Her design will be featured on thousands of 2008 CTE Month promotional products which are ordered by schools and institutions from around the country.
