ACTE to Debut the Advanced Learning Space

The 2006 ACTE Annual Convention and Career Tech Expo is shaping up to be an exciting and dynamic professional development experience for all career and technical educators.

The latest addition to the Convention is the Advanced Learning Space (ALS). Based on several award-winning, nationally recognized educational models and input from technology curriculum directors, teachers and supporting faculty, ACTE, in conjunction with the architectural firm of Burgess & Niple, will be showcasing how the integration of technology and architecture can enhance student learning.

ACTE, Burgess & Niple, and a local school have collaborated on the design and building of this unique learning space, which will be located in the concourse just outside the Exhibit Hall.

Convention attendees will be able to experience this space in a number of ways. Inside the ALS, educators will walk visitors through brief lessons and illustrate how to use the technology and the space. In addition, Exhibit Hall attendees will be able to witness what is happening in the ALS through a window that looks out onto the Exhibit Hall floor.

The program content in the ALS will focus on teaching in four career cluster areas: engineering, digital media, health sciences and automotive.

More information will be included in the Convention Program Guide and on this Web site.
