Robertson Wins 2010 National CTE Month Logo Contest

Alexandria, VA—The Association for Career and Technical Education
(ACTE) announces that Grant Robertson of Houston, Texas has won the
2010 CTE Month Logo Design Contest. Robertson will receive a check for
$250 and the logo will be used to promote the 2010 Career and Technical
Education (CTE) Month theme CTE: Invest in Your Future. ACTE received 280 entries for this year’s contest.
Robertson is a junior at Barbara Jordan High School for Careers, located in Houston, Texas, in the Advertising and Graphic Design Career Education program. He entered the program during his freshman year and is learning to use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop CS programs, as well as other world-class computer software. He is a member of the SkillsUSA Leadership Organization and has successfully competed in regional electronic-media competitions.
This year, Robertson won second place in the Regional SkillsUSA Advertising and Design Skills contest and placed third during his sophomore year. At the Regional Career Technical Education Expo this year, he won first place in the logo design contest. He also competes in a number of worldwide logo design competitions, one of which he recently won. He is currently applying for a graphic design summer internship position and a co-op position in the fall. He is planning to attend college and pursue a career in graphic design.
